Drought kills livestock in North West and Northern Cape

Hundreds of livestock continue to die in the drought-stricken provinces of North West and the Northern Cape.

Government aid to affected farmers seems to be inadequate and farmers in the Western Cape are rushing feed through to as many farms in the two provinces as possible. North West Agriculture chairperson Korr Janse van Vuuren says they are grateful for the relief.

Western Cape Agriculture MEC Gerrit Van Rensburg announced that Western Cape farmers experienced good harvests in the last couple of years and are willing to assist the North West and Northern Cape provinces.
