Estonian farmers demand higher subsidies from EU
Estonian farmers made fires at the central square in Tallinn on Tuesday protesting against the discrimination policy of the EU regarding the agricultural sectors of the new member-states.
According to Yan Syrra, Vice president of the Central Union of landowners of Estonia, the local farmers receive subsidies which are 4-5 times less than the subsidies paid to the farmers in old members states.
