Farmers praying for respite from summer sun
North Island farmers are considering extreme measures as they become increasingly desperate for relief from soaring temperatures.
Waikato farmers are on the verge of declaring a drought in their region, while in Hawke's Bay, sheep farmers are selling off their stock as feed runs low.
"It's extremely dry," said Hawke's Bay farmer Gary Peddle. "It's dry right through from here to Taihape."
