Farmers urged to speak up before power price rises

The deadline for submissions around changes to power prices is approaching and producers are being urged to speak up or wear hikes of up to $100 000 over seven years.

The Queensland Competition Authority has been touring the state presenting a proposal which is hoped to bring large power users prices into line with those of smaller users.

QCA Chairperson Malcolm Roberts says the proposal has been developed after extended consultation with industry.
