Hard freeze hits fruit crops
Ontario’s growing season is over for some farmers even before it really began after the promise of an early season was clobbered by a killing freeze.
Apple growers and other fruit farmers took a hit in many areas when temperatures plunged to minus five and colder last Thursday and Friday nights. Wheat farmers are still holding their breath to find out how badly mauled their crop was by the weather.
