Lagos state’s plan to feed citizenry
The Lagos State government has recently set up a Farm Service Centre where farmers will be periodically trained to improve their knowledge and skill; where they will table their challenges and constraints for expert advice and where they will get improved seedlings and other agricultural input at reasonable costs.
The Farm Service Centre was recently commissioned by the governor, Babatunde Fashola at Oko-Oba, Agege. The governor has promised to replicate the facility in the other four divisions of the state namely, Badagry, Epe, Ikorodu and Lagos Island. The centre is designed to be a one stop shop to help alleviate farmers’ challenges promptly and at reasonable cost.
