Milk price cuts will see collapse of dairy farming in Britain
Andrew Hemming, the vice chairman for Farmers For Action, said that the collapse will see more than a billion litres of milk taken out of the market – ultimately leading to higher prices and more imports.
Mr Hemming was speaking as farmers blockaded milk processing plants in Leeds, Somerset, Leicestershire and Kent in protest at a 4p-a-litre reduction in the farm gate prices.
