Milk prices may double in January with ‘dairy cliff’
U.S. Senator Charles Schumer (NY-D), in a Dec. 12 press release, warned that consumers could see milk prices at grocery stores increase 100 percent beginning in January, as a result of the U.S. House of Representatives failure to pass the 2012 Farm Bill.
“The ‘dairy cliff’ is fast approaching, and without a House Farm Bill before year’s end, it will be consumers and dairy producers alike that go over the edge.” — Sen. Charles Schumer
