More school students give agriculture a crack

A state-funded program encouraging high school students into agricultural careers has doubled in participation since last year.

Dianne Fullelove from the Gateway Schools to Agribusiness initiative, says more than 20 Queensland schools are now taking part, thanks to extra government effort and strong school interest.

It's a positive step given it's a tough sell luring young people into the current rural climate, proven by the opening of up to six jobs for each agriculture graduate.
