Nearly 3 million acres of farmland were flooded in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan Agriculture says early estimates suggest between two million and three million acres of farmland were flooded in last week’s downpour and are unlikely to produce a crop.

The department’s latest crop report says that while weather conditions have improved, many crops in eastern regions that were hit by the torrential rain have been significantly affected.

Crops losses are also expected to be heavy in western Manitoba, which was also deluged with rain during the last weekend of June.
