New methods help Kenyan farmers become self-sufficient

After her husband died three years ago, Celine was forced to work on other people’s land for just 50 Kenyan shillings (about 36p) a day. Today, her life has been transformed by a farmer field school established by Farm Africa.

Farm Africa is a British charity working with farmers to help them overcome the deadly, long-term threats of drought, famine and crop disease. They equip people with the knowledge to work their way out of poverty so they no longer need to rely on handouts.
