Pakistan, Italy ink agreement for olive farming

A three-year project has been launched under the debt-swap agreement between Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) and the Italian government for promotion of olive farming in Pakistan, a top official in the council said on Thursday.

As many as 1,500 hectares of land would be brought under olive cultivation within the next three years with an aim to exploit the potential in this particular sector and make the country self-sufficient in olive production.
