Stay away from live poultry to avoid bird flu - HK health chief

Hong Kong's health chief warned Wednesday against close contact with live poultry, a day after China reported the death of a woman who contracted a bird flu virus strain never before found in humans.

The 73-year-old woman, who died in China's Jiangxi Province on Dec. 6 after contracting H10N8, a strain of bird flu normally found in water fowl, had visited a live poultry market, Food and Health Secretary Ko Wing-man said.
