Unseasonal rains wreak havoc in farms

Rabi crops worth lakhs of rupees were flattened due to the unseasonal rains that lashed Aurangabad, Jalna and some other districts of Marathwada recently. Officials are yet to receive details of crop losses, but farmers are worried as the work of carrying out a panchnama hasn’t begun yet.

All tehsils of the Aurangabad district and some adjacent districts, namely Jalna and Dhule, witnessed thundershowers and hailstorms. The crops were 80-90 per cent ready. Farmers of all tehsils in the Aurangabad district have suffered extensive crop damages.
