'High interest' in Shropshire land and woodland auction

Auctioneers Halls have reported a high level of interest in six parcels of pastureland and woodland across Shropshire that will be going under the hammer on Friday, December 6.

Included in Halls’ collective property auction at the company’s Battlefield headquarters in Shrewsbury at 3pm are 32.50 acres of woodland set around a substantial range of former military buildings at Twemlows Wood, Prees Higher Heath, near Whitchurch.

The woodland, which is accessible from the A41, comprises principally softwood trees with a hardwood fringe and has a guide price of £140,000.

The other lots include 32.16 acres of level pastureland adjacent to the B5063 north of Woodhouse Farm, Shawbury Road, Wem, which has a guide price of £190,000.

A guide price of £110,000 has been issued for 17.73 acres of pastureland and woodland at Rowley, Westbury, near Shrewsbury, which has good road frontage and planning consent to erect an agricultural storage building.

Two parcels of land on the edge of Whitchurch with good road access also feature in the auction. A 24.60-acre parcel of uncultivated accommodation land north east of Chester Road has a guide price of £130,000 while 10.56 acres of pastureland at Grindley Brook has a £75,000 guide price.

The remaining lot is 11.76 acres of permanent pastureland with direct road access and a stretch of former canal at Poolhead and Poolhead Bridge, Whixall, Whitchurch, which has a guide price of £60,000.
