Agriculture learning centre to revive farming

The skills shortage and falling enrolments in agriculture courses have prompted a group of NSW farmers to plan a major rural learning centre for children.

The Australian Agriculture Centre would be based at Crookwell, under two hours from Sydney and a quarter of Australia's population.

The Crookwell group is calling for an entrepreneur to kick-start the centre to help bridge the gap between the city and country.

Christian Durant says they are modelling the idea on the successful science centre Questacon in nearby Canberra.
