Argentina-Drought has cost US$3.6 Billion.



DROUGHT HAS COST US$3.6 BILLION AND STILL COIUNTING.
A leader of a farmers association in Buenos Aires on Tuesday, estimated the cost of the drought to be US$3.6 billion, in the worse drought in the recorded history of Argentina.

Pedro Apaolaza, the head of CARBAP farmers group, was in a meeting with former governor of Buenos Aires Daniel Scoli, who is entering the presidential race against the current government in two years.

Light scattered showers fell over the country on Tuesday and there is a forecast of ran by the weekend, while the damage done is beyond repair, rain now could prevent things becoming even more serious.

Meanwhile vice President Julio Cobos, who is the most popular politician in the country at the moment, after his intervention in the farmers strike last year, is seeking an accord with the farmers.

The 53 year old politician, told the Bloomberg news agency "Farmers have always been the backbone of the economy of Argentina and we have to reach a quick accord with them, to avoid a situation like last year and the 4 month strike".
