Argentina-Farmers raise their political voices.

Farmers in one of the world’s grain suppliers yesterday marked the first anniversary since they started protesting against export duties, rejecting charges by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner that they were seeking to topple her, and urging Argentines to vote against her administration in October’s mid-term elections and vowing to continue their fight in Congress.

"We are not coup-mongerers or destabilizers," said Eduardo Buzzi, head of the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA) at a rally in the central province of Córdoba.

"We have a tradition of democracy and of respect for the Constitution. Nobody is seeking (to force) a helicopter escape. We want to help and to be a driving force for production."
