The government of Western Australia, is to implement a State controlled set of standards, for the classification of sheep and lamb carcass’s.

A recent government report showed that 20% of hoggets, were being branded as lambs for the domestic market, giving the butchers an unfair advantage is selling meat.

The government aims to impose tighter controls, on the system currently in place at meat plants.
