BELARUS-GOVERNMENT HELP TO MEAT TRADE.

The government of Belarus is to provide the Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm (99.59% owned by the state) with a budget loan for the sum of R 1.5bn (US$ 0.57mn EUR 0.42mn) for three years. The funds are to be injected in the enterprise’s development. The farm is to boost its broiler meat production to 28,000 tons by 2010 due to the funds provided against the planned 23,000 tons in 2009. In 2008, the enterprise put out 21,300 tons of meat (up 7% against 2007). The Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm is considered one of the three largest poultry meat producers in the country.
