A BIOFUEL company has announced plans to build the world's largest biodiesel producing complex — possibly in north-east England.
Middlesbrough-based Biofuels Corporation Limited has announced "advanced plans" to build a 250,000 metric tonne plant and said it could be in the UK.

"The UK looks a possibility for the first plant and we have been particularly impressed with the enthusiasm and support we have received from agencies in the North East."
Mr Nicholas said if the plant went ahead the company would look to UK farmers to supply about 100,000 tonnes of oilseed rape/year. The rest would be imported.
"The plant itself is designed and we are ready to start when we finalise the finances and the site."
The Tees Valley Development Company and Teesside Chemical Initiative said it would be good news to establish the region as a "new fuels" centre.
TVDC chief executive Neil Etherington said: "There is potentially a very large market for products such as biodiesel."
