Brazil-Drought hits corn and soy crops.

DROUGHT HITS GRAIN CROP.

The driest continent on the planet Australia, is swimming in the wonderful monsoon rains of the last week, while Argentina and Brazil, two of the most fertile countries in the world with an abundance of rain normally are in drought.

The crops of soy and corn for 2009 have been re-estimated at far lower tons than earlier forecasts predicted.

The corn crop is now estimated at 52.3 million tons, down from the forecast of 54.4million tons.

Soy is now estimated at 57.8 million tons, down from earlier predictions of 58.8 million tons in Brazil.


Dry conditions have affected the corn and soy farms in Brazil and Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay are dry, but not as extreme as the other two countries, who are having the hottest summer since 1855.
