Bundles of breeds at the Open Dog Show
Dogs of all shapes and sizes will be competing for Best in Show during the Eastbourne and District Canine Society Open Dog Show at The South of England Centre, Ardingly on Sunday 18th September.
The family friendly show will showcase and judge around 60 different breeds in its Open Dog Show this summer, with all types of pedigree dogs being entered into the competition such as Dalmatians, Pointers, English Toy Terriers, Whippets and Dobermans.
The day is set to get tails wagging with a wide display of specialist breed groups such as Gundogs, Hounds and Working Breeds. Winners of these groups then compete for Best in Show for which there is the prize of an engraved glass trophy.
Chris Cleland, Honorary Secretary of Eastbourne and District Canine Society, says "Our society has been going since 1925, and our annual open show has been running at the South of England Centre for a few years. It is one of the few places in Sussex that has adequate space and car parking facilities for over 1,000 dogs!"
The show will start at 10.00 am and all judging will be held indoors set in the beautiful South of England Centre showground, with its stunning countryside backdrop and excellent catering facilities on offer for visitors. Car parking is in close proximity to the event, with an allocated section for those registered disabled. There is no entry charge for the show.
The South of England Centre is one of the most flexible and unique venues in the country. With its large outdoor areas and versatile indoor venues, the centre is extremely popular among canine societies and hosts a variety of dog shows and training events throughout the year.
