Responding to the publication of the National Heart Forum’s report ’An analysis of the regulatory and voluntary landscape concerning the marketing and promotion of food and drink to children’, Children’s Food Campaign Coordinator Christine Haigh said:
"We welcome this comprehensive review of food promotion to children, which shows the myriad ways in which children are targeted by junk food marketers and demonstrates the inadequacy of voluntary commitments to tackle this issue. Rather than pursuing the weak voluntary approach of the last government, we need decisive action from the Coalition Government to introduce comprehensive regulation to protect children from junk food marketing in all its forms."
