BUDDING chefs from around the country have been racking their brains and honing their cooking talents to take part in the English Beef and Lamb Executive's (EBLEX) Quality Standard Mince Competition.
In five regional heats winners came from Isleworth, Colchester, Paignton, Leicester and Clitheroe with dishes such as Spicy Caribbean Meatballs, Beef Kebabs with Fiery Tomato Sauce and Burritos.

Winners were presented with a basket of prizes which included half day cooking workshops, professional chef whites, books and equipment vouchers.
Judges were James Martin, presenter of the BBC1 Saturday Kitchen Show and EBLEX Food Advisor Denise Spencer-Walker.
Each of the contestants had a budget of just £10 to produce their winning dishes.
