BEEF EXPORTS.
The Ethiopian Meat and Dairy Technology Institute, plans to increase beef exports, from the current 6,000 tons a year to 30,000 tons a year.
There is a new export beef plant, currently under construction in the capital Addis Ababa that will have capacity for 500 cattle per day.
There is also a good export market, for goats and sheep to the Middle East.
There are currently 21 abattoirs in the nation, there is a government sponsored training scheme for personnel is being put in place.
