FOOT AND MOUTH VACCINATION.
The government of India is to vaccinate 9 million cattle against foot and mouth disease, in a manner similar to Argentina and Brazil.
Foot and mouth cannot be contracted by humans and can only affect animals with cloven feet, therefore farm cats dogs and horses are also immune.
In Hong Kong they get foot and mouth every year around August and September, the meat goes strait into the food chain with no adverse effect.
While indeed the disease is highly contagious, its nearest human disease that can be called similar, would be herpes or the common cold sore. Why the very words foot and mouth disease spread such dread and fear, is ignorance on the part of the governments, media and farmers who really have no idea of what is safe and what is dangerous, according the meat industry experts.
TB and brucellosis can be contracted by humans, with fatal consequences, yet there is more fuss and alarm over foot and mouth and BSE that cannot be contracted by humans, which beggars belief.
