Industry anger grows over Dairy UK chairman change

The Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF) has added its voice to the growing concern over Dairy UK"e;s leadership change.

RABDF chairman, Lyndon Edwards said appointing Dairy Crest chief executive Mark Allen as chairman to succeed MP David Curry could lead to the demise of Dairy UK.

Last Wednesday, the NFU announced it was withdrawing its support for the organisation that was set up four years ago to represent the entire supply chain because of the appointment.

Today (Monday September 15), it received backing from RABDF. "Dairy UK"e;s objectives were to bring together for the first time all sectors of the industry, to collectively develop the market and the overall dairy business, and in turn, achieve a sustained improvement to producer milk price.
