Kubota’s global move into large scale farming market got another step closer this month when the company invited key European suppliers to the official opening of Kubota Farm Machinery (KFM) – the new full-scale production facility in Northern France that is manufacturing the company’s flagship M7001 Series.

The 37,000 sq m factory, the result of a €40 million investment by Kubota Corporation to accelerate the global development of its agricultural machinery business, will manufacture up to 3,000 tractors in its first two years of production for the European, North American, Oceania and Japanese markets.

Kubota’s M7001 is the cleanest, most technical and powerful tractor the company has ever built. Manufactured to fulfil the stringent requirements of large-scale upland farming across the European and North American agricultural markets, it is available in three models from 130HP to 170HP (M7131, M7151 and M7171).

Rob Edwards, Kubota UK’s business development manager for its agricultural division, commented: “The official opening ceremony of KFM was designed to celebrate the factory going into full-scale production and mark the significant and long term investment that Kubota Corporation has made to the European market. Our new M7001 Series is going to be the pride of the Kubota brand and this production facility is the entity that is going to drive this forward.”

The M7001 Series is ideal for carrying out a wide range of jobs on both mixed and arable farms and comes with a host of features to maximise performance, reliability and operator comfort and control.

The M7001 Series is available with a choice of high performance and efficient powershift or continuously variable transmissions, giving the user the option to match the transmission to his farming needs.

When carrying materials at low speeds, or when traction is key, operators can switch the M7001 to ECO mode, which reduces engine speed while maintaining a travelling speed of either 40km/h or 50km/h. This feature, alongside the inclusion of an extra large fuel (330 litres) tank, helps to extend intervals between refuelling, maximise user productivity and minimise downtime.

Powered by Kubota’s world-renowned engine technology, the M7001 is fitted with a powerful V6108 engine with full tier 4 compliance, including DPF and SCR technology to clean up emissions, resulting in a cleaner, more environmentally friendly tractor.

Inside the cab, the M7001 is equally as impressive, with comfort central to optimum operator enjoyment. Available in a choice of suspensions - mechanical, air or none - the user can choose an option that best suits their needs and work demands.

The M7001 also features a 3-stage front suspension system for premium comfort, stability and for precise operation. The system works with the shock absorbers to allow drivers to smoothly navigate rough terrain, while suspension stiffness can be adjusted manually or automatically in three stages: firm, normal and soft.

The extra wide cabin fitted on the M7001 has been designed to facilitate long hours in the seat. Built with just four corner posts and no centre pillars to get in the way, operators can enjoy a virtually unobstructed view from the front, rear and on both sides. The cabin has also been specifically engineered to minimise the intrusion of outside noise, resulting in a peaceful working environment.

The M7001 also features an auto function and custom setting for fieldwork; as well as the incorporation of an interactive 12” touch-screen that manages all functionality intuitively, including Tractor Control, ISO-BUS connector-compatible implement control, GPS-controlled auto-guidance and Camera Monitor.

Packing an impressive 9000kg lift capacity, the M7001 makes light work of heavy implements such as combi-seeders and other large attachments. Enhanced power and performance is also central to the M7001’s design and engineering, and the addition of an engine Power Boost allows users to access extra power over short periods when completing particularly challenging tasks, delivering the power, comfort, performance and usability that today’s farmers demand.
