Less waste equals more profits



PRODUCER, processor, slaughterer - it doesn't matter where you are in the supply chain the Red Meat Industry Forum can help. Just how that help, in the form of cutting waste and increasing profitability, is available will be outlined in a video being produced by the RMIF. It will be one of the highlights at the RMIF Conference at the QE II Centre in London on November 6. The video details real cases where savings have been made and these savings can be replicated throughout the industry. Among others, the case studies look at on-farm benchmarking and PROBE (promoting business excellence).

Project Manager for Metrics On-farm Benchmarking Andrew Charlton said: "Producers should join the scheme. It has tremendous potential to identify where real savings can be made to improve the competitiveness of a farm business. "Exactly how it operates and what results have been achieved on-farm will be highlighted at the conference so it has appeal for producers as well as those further along the supply chain."
