MALTA & GOZO.
MEAT PRODUCTION UP.
The two Islands of Gozo and Malta, former British territories between Italy and North Africa, have seen a boom in the meat industry since being allowed membership in the European Union.
Pork and poultry production is up by 34%, beef production by 10%.

The Islands who imported meat for years, now in fact are exporting small quantities of meat to southern Italy.
Once large Naval fortresses, the islands today enjoy most of their income from the tourist industry.
