Management and Welfare of Seasonal Turkeys
ADAS has arranged a series of meetings in February 2008 around the country to provide an opportunity to discuss the main factors affecting performance, common problems that can occur and what we can do to avoid or minimise them. There will be turkey specialist veterinary surgeons, experienced turkey producers, and ADAS consultants at each meeting to cover topics such as:
• Brooding - are we getting it right?
• Health and welfare – production diseases and parasites
• Management – lighting, litter management, feather pecking, predator control
• Hygiene and biosecurity – the problems that need to be faced
• Legislative challenges – how might Salmonella testing or NVZ rule changes affect you?
The meetings will commence at 6.30pm and will conclude by 9.00pm.
Tea/coffee and buffet will be available.
