Milk Link picks up awards at Royal Bath and West Show
Milk Link, the UK’s leading integrated dairy business, has triumphed at the Royal Bath & West Show winning an outstanding 20 awards in total for all four of its Creameries. This includes seven gold prizes and three trophies – the Black Diamond Challenge Trophy for the best film wrapped English cheddar block; the Chris Braund Memorial Trophy for the best prepared block cheese; and the Bath & West Trophy for the best entry in the butter classes.
The Show, held on 28-30 May, saw Milk Link scoop gold awards for three out of four of its Creameries. Taw Valley Creamery, in North Tawton, Devon, won an impressive three gold awards in the Cheddar (Mature), Cheddar (Mild) and Reduced Fat Cheese categories. Lockerbie Creamery, in Scotland, also won three gold awards in the butter categories (Salted Creamery Butter, Unsalted Creamery Butter and Salted Butter), whilst Tuxford and Tebbutt Creamery in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire won gold for its Blue Shropshire cheese in the One Blue Cheese category.
Seven silver awards were picked up by: Taw Valley Creamery in the Red Leicester, Organic Cheddar, Mature Cheddar and Totally Open categories; Lockerbie Creamery in the Identical Pair of Cheeses and Half Fat (10kg) categories; and Reece’s Creamery in the Cheshire category. A further three bronze awards were won.
