More job losses at Bernard Matthews
Turkey producer Bernard Matthews today announced 90 job losses at its Norfolk head office following a review of the company's operations.
It's the latest stage in the company's attempts to revitalise the troubled business and return the company to profitability.
On Saturday the EDP revealed the turkey producer was looking to sell its sandwich business to Kerry Foods in a move which will lead to the loss of 250 jobs.
Kerry Foods plans to take over the business, retaining its customer orders but closing down its production facilities in Dunstable and its nationwide van network.
Over the past few months Bernard Matthews has conducted a complete review of its operations with the help of accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers.
As part of the review Bernard Matthews plans to realign and streamline its workforce, with up to 90 jobs at its Great Witchingham headquarters now expected to be lost.
