Natural feed = Profitable production

A FREE event for West Midlands-based farmers will show how grasses and legumes can add value to beef production.

The event includes a presentation on the production at Longnor and grazing management and conservation techniques used to produce high quality forage beef followed by a discussion on improved performance.

The 'Better Return West Midlands' Vocational Training Scheme will take place on Monday 17 July at The Farm, Longnor, near Shrewsbury, SY5 7PP.

EBLEX Regional Development Manager Phil Hadley said: "This event will highlight effective grassland management principles using high sugar grasses and red/white clovers. Producers will hear how performance targets are achieved and the opportunities for forage-based beef production."

The 'Better Return West Midlands' Vocational Training Scheme is aimed at improving livestock farmers' skills through a programme of 75 events over three years.
