New Managing Director for Centaur Grain

Centaur Grain Ltd, the UK's largest 'committed' grain marketing business, has appointed Malcolm Parkinson as Managing Director.

Malcolm, who lives at Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk and will take up his post on 23rd January, has a strong background in the food marketing industry. Previously Chief Executive of Lingarden Ltd, a Lincolnshire-based agricultural and horticultural business supplying UK supermarkets and food manufacturing companies, Malcolm has extensive sales and marketing experience, which together with a broad general management background will enable him to lead Centaur during the next phase of its continuing development.

With offices at Andover in Hampshire, Aylsham in Norfolk, Boston in Lincolnshire and Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, the company recently announced pre-tax profits of £387,000 for the last financial year, during which it attracted a record level of new business. The company has since added a further 100,000 tonnes of business for the 2005/06 marketing season, when it will handle more than 1.7 million tonnes produced by its 1800-plus members.
