FARMING NOW BOOMING.

Pakistan enjoyed 11 pc growth for the first 8 months of the last year, according to government figures and a new importance is being placed on the farming sector.

Dr Muhammad Newaz, a former minister stated that, research into fish, poultry and meat were high on the governments agenda.

Pakistan unlike its neighbor India, is a beef eating nation, lamb, beef, poultry ,and buffalo meat are the main staples in the traditional diet.

There are 5000 retail butchers in Karachi selling fresh meat and poultry, like most emerging economies the demand for meat is increasing rapidly.
