NEW MEAT BANS.

Hormel Foods the makers of Spam, have been black listed by the Russian authorities, along with 18 other pork processors, all with state-of the-art modern processing plants.

The reasons for the new bans are not quite clear, merely stating from the reports by Russia’s auditing authority, "The plants are not considered up the Russian standard". This has been standard practice over the last two months, and seen as a blatant political move by the government of Moscow against the United States.

This is very much a case of Doctor, Doctor, heal thyself, when one considers how primitive the Russian meat industry is in 80% of the sector. Admittedly there are now new state of the art plants being built, yet 90% of the domestic consumption outside Moscow, comes from local slaughterhouses with no meat inspectors.
