Russia boosts meat production

MOSCOW - Russia increased meat production by 129,000 tonnes in the first quarter of 2009, First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov said at a meeting on meat production in Rostov on Friday. Production of poultry meat rose by 86,000 tonnes or 13% and pork production was up by 43,000 tonnes or 7%.
