Shrewsbury's April plant and farm machinery auction attracts 1,400 lots

Around 1,400 lots of plant and agricultural machinery will be going under the auctioneer’s hammers at a popular bi-monthly collective auction at Shrewsbury Auction Centre on Friday, April 10.

Auctioneers Halls have attracted a consignment of mowers, hedge-cutters, wood chippers and strimmers from Shropshire Council in addition to a good selection of plant and agricultural machinery.

The agricultural machinery is headed by a Class Dominator 76 combine harvester with a 10 foot cutting head, a Case International CS94 TR four wheel drive tractor, a Massey Ferguson 4255 four wheel drive tractor, a Massey Ferguson 135 tractor and a range of harvesting machinery, including a John Deere 578 round baler. Telehandlers include a Sanderson TL7 and a Matbro TR3250.

The plant section features a Hy Mac 12 tonne excavator, a JCB JS130 excavator, a JCB 801 mini digger and a Hitachi EX45 digger.

Other lots include a Tempest class racing sail boat with trailer and a selection of trailers, sheep and cattle handling and feeding equipment and general farm tools.

“More farmers and plant owners are recognising that our auction is an excellent opportunity to sell their unwanted, second hand machinery and implements,” said Halls’ auction manager Nick Hyne. “The auctions are conducted with live online bidding, which ensures that there is competitive bidding from a global market, with very strong demand from Eastern Europe in particular.”
