BSE IN 10 YEAR OLD COW.
The Regional environment ministry for Madrid, has issued a statement regarding a 10 year old cow from a farm in Galapagar with BSE, on the 20 December and the animal was put down.
According to Think Spain, there have been six confirmed cases in Spain, since 2000, the most recent in 2004.
The news organization also reported that 4,800 inspections have been carried out on farms at least twice in the last year.
The ministry has assured the public that they were at no time at any risk, as there was no chance of any animals getting into the food chain.
