A Suffolk agricultural college has announced plans to practice what is teaching many of the county's hard-pressed arable and pig farmers - invest and diversify.
Otley College, near Ipswich, is asking for planning permission to spend £8m to upgrade it's facilities, which currently includes a large food development centre.
The new facilities will include a IT centre, Library and extensions to the animal science and construction centres. It is also hoping to build new accomadation for Students.
The college has already extended its range of courses to include new land based sectors including gardening, IT and food production. Although the college insisted that Agriculture remains it's core business activity.

Funding will come from a range of sources including the Learning and Skills Council of Suffolk.
