Stuart Shand, sales director, Gleadell Agriculture reports: "The steep decline in the value of sterling against the € has had no effect on prices for the 08 crop as there are simply no buyers in the market.

"On paper, the 09 FOB market has improved by around £7.50/t which is great news for a market which looks potentially as if it is in oversupply," he added.
