UK’s premier arable event bigger than ever
Cereals 2003, Europe's premier arable event for all farmers, large or small, mixed or arable, takes place in June. It promises to be the biggest ever now that it includes the Sprays & Sprayers event and over 270 specialist exhibitors.
Organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of England, Cereals 2003 will be held at Velcourt's Vine Farm, Wendy, near Royston, Hertfordshire on Wednesday and Thursday June 11 and 12.
The dedicated Sprays & Sprayers area has a demonstration arena at its heart with surrounding seating and dedicated trade stands. In a continuous programme running throughout both days, machines can be seen working in a crop of winter wheat. Each machine demonstration will be accompanied by an explanatory commentary.
In a separate area on the 43 hectare site there will be additional working machinery exhibits, demonstrating equipment for establishment through to harvest.
Growers looking for alternative crops can find detailed information about non-food crop options, complete with agronomy advice to print out and take home. As well as crop demonstrations based around the latest recommended list varieties, there will be a sugar beet focus outlining the environmental aspects of beet growing, varieties, seed treatments, nitrogen application and agronomic aspects.
The Voluntary Initiative is currently an important topic for all farmers and will be a prominent feature at the event, which will be covered in the Talking Arable seminar programme. Other seminar topics include grain marketing, grain sampling, crop establishment, spray applications and remote sensing.
To help farmers and contractors make the most of their visit to this event, now the most comprehensive of its kind, a new two-day ticket is available, either in advance or on the day at a discounted price of £15. The general admission cost is £8.50, with concessions for students.
