UNIONS FIGHT MEAT PLANT CLOSURE.

Union leaders are swearing to fight the closure of the Tulip meat plant, in the North West of England, that was announced last week meaning to loss of 300 jobs.

The company has agreed to enter into a 90 day consultation period, with the union leaders and workers and is open to suggestions, of ways to save the plant from closure.

Union representative Franny Joyce, said that the union would be pressing Tulip, for all details to be made available, on the rationale behind the decision to close.

She went on to say how angry the workers and their families were, at the Tulip proposals to close the factory that has a staff of over 300.
