NEW RULES FOR CATTLE FEED APRIL 27 2009.

New legislation comes into force in April of 2009, as to what can go into by products for animal feed.

Brain tissue and spinal cords will not be allowed, however the guts and digestive system along with traces of blood residue will be ok.

One would have considered the cooking process at the by product plants, that reach high enough temperatures to render bones to dust and fat and guts to tallow, would be sufficient to remove all risk of any contamination.

The spinal cord is out, yet the channel down the back bone that carries the spinal cord is in.

The brain is out yet the skull of the head is in.

The whole system seems more at appeasing the media, than doing anything constructive.
