United States-USDA Battle with E-coli
UNITED STATES.
USDA TO TACKE E-COLI
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, has issued draft guidelines on sampling and testing for E-coli 015 H7, in small premises not equipped with their own laboratories.
The guidelines are to enable small shops and premises, to test for E-coli on ground beef (mince meat) on a daily basis.
The Agency said in a statement , "The purpose of this guideline is to help our small establishments, develop sampling methods and plans for monitoring the effectiveness of process controls, that are designed to prevent E-coli contaminated product from leaving the premises."
In Argentina there have been no recorded problems, related to E-coli in meat products including ground beef ( mince meat.).
They do however have signs on the lavatory doors, at meat premises in Argentina, saying "Wash your hands before leaving" as this is the most common cause of E-coli.
