RICE HARVEST A RECORD
Despite being a small country Uruguay, is among the worlds leading exporters of rice, exporting 90pc of its total production.
This year record harvests are expected and 200,095 hectares have been planted, compared with 150,750 hectares in 2008.
The record yield and record crop, comes at a very advantageous time for Uruguay, with high world prices and demand.
