MORE TRADE ACCORDS.

Uruguay is the third largest exporter of agricultural products in South America, whilst a member of Mercosur (South American equivalent of EU), Uruguay favors trade agreements and free trade agreements where possible, with as many countries as practical.

This was announced by President Tabare Vazquez, who when he returned from a trip to Israel, Switzerland and South Korea last year.

Israel has a trade agreement in place, for the purchase of Kosher beef and lamb from Uruguay and this trade is expected to expand even more this year..
