Veteran horse welfare planning to raise over £10,000 in xmas campaign

Veteran Horse Welfare is asking the public for their help in raising over £10,000 to support their sister organization, Veteran Horse Society, in the feeding of their horses at their two rehabilitation centres this winter. One horse alone can cost the Society £2,000 in the first two months of arriving, and they currently have 30 horses between each centre.

The charity plans to support the VHS heavily this winter, thereby allowing many more horses to be helped over the cold and wet months. The VHW believes that donations and support can make a real difference. This Christmas Veteran Horse Welfare is selling two specially designed cards in aid of their rehabilitation centres in Pembrokeshire and Surrey. One card is based on two horses the Society sadly lost in 2004 - Badger and Tiny, whilst the other card features their new centre in Surrey. By basing its cards on horses they currently have or have previously had in their care, the charity feels it gives a personal touch for the supporters, and allows them to spread the word about the charity's activities to their family and friends at Christmas.

The cards are on sale now by mail order and all proceeds go directly to the horses in care. They are sold in packs of 10 and are just £4.99 per pack. Supporters of this worthwhile cause can either use their debit card to order them via phone (0870 242 6653) or via their website www.veteran-horse-welfare.co.uk
